迎恩门楼

迎恩门楼

　　莞城迎恩城楼(俗称西城楼)，位于莞城西正路口。建于明洪武十七年（1384年），是莞城标志性古建筑，距今已有600多年历史。它与东门和阳、南门崇德、北门镇海三城楼同时建于明洪武年间，是东莞重点文物保护单位。城楼高16米，宽126米，厚14米；楼顶为重叠歇山式构筑，有36根大圆柱支承，红墙绿瓦，画梁彩柱，飞檐斗拱，雄伟壮观。城楼下为拱门通道，六十年代重修时，将原来一条通道两重城门改为三条通道，不设城门，以适应交通需要。　

　　经过几百年的风雨洗礼，迎恩城楼依然屹立不倒，雄姿英发。它在西城楼文化广场以及附近现代化高层建筑的衬托下，散发出其历史久远、文化内涵深厚的独特魅力。
