Goose House Mural Tomb

The Goose House Mural Tomb is a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

The Goose House Mural Tomb is located south of Efang Village in Wensheng District. It is an I-shaped stone slab tomb, with the coffin chamber constructed from large light-blue shale slabs. The chamber measures 4.80 meters in length from front to back, 3.48 meters in width from left to right, and 1.48 meters in height. The tomb entrance faces southeast. The structure is sealed externally with stone slabs. Inside the coffin chamber, there are front and rear corridors, small side chambers, two coffin compartments, and upper and lower layers of stone slabs covered with lime-mortared joints. Burial objects include clay models such as a square stove, ladle, spoon, seed drill, and a Boshan incense burner, as well as 60+ other artifacts made of grey earthenware including pots, bowls, basins, cups, trays, bottles, dou vessels, and cosmetic boxes. There are also over 60 bronze items such as ring-handled knives, mirrors, and silver rings.

The stone walls are painted with murals, including a portrait of a government official depicting six standing men in green robes with white collars and cuffs, wearing black scholar's caps, each holding a silk scroll. There is also a banquet scene showing three men and one woman sitting facing each other with hands clasped— the male host wears a black hat and a red-green robe with white collars and cuffs, while the female host has an elaborate hairstyle and wears a red robe. In the center, one man in a green long robe with a tied waist belt lies on the ground with his arms and legs outstretched, performing a handstand-like acrobatic move for the hosts, resembling a flying celestial. Another mural shows a two-story building adorned with images of the sun, moon, sika deer, horses, beasts, and ducks.

Protected area: A radius of 10 meters centered on the tomb’s burial mound.

Construction control zone: A primary construction control zone extending 20 meters beyond the protected area.
