The Baiyinhusu Grassland Tourist Area was established in 1989 and has since developed into one of the largest grassland tourist destinations in Hulunbuir, with fixed assets worth 2 million yuan, receiving 100,000 domestic and international visitors annually, and generating over 1.5 million yuan in revenue.

It offers newly built Mongolian yurts with first-class interiors in China. The guest rooms are equipped with showers and bathrooms, while the dining yurts feature diverse decorative styles and serve distinctive grassland dairy products along with authentic ethnic cuisine. Enjoying ethnic song and dance performances, and having Mongolian girls toast you with their melodious singing while presenting hada (silk scarves), will make you feel as if you’ve entered a heavenly paradise.

In summer, the endless stretches of emerald-green grassland reach as far as the eye can see, with fluffy white clouds within arm’s reach. Herds of cattle and sheep roam the plains, while the winding Yimin River glides like a silver ribbon across the boundless green landscape. Under the vast blue sky, if you look westward, you’ll see the perpetually mist-shrouded Xitang Mountain, revered by local herders. After meals, you can ride a horse or take a wooden cart called a "lele" to explore the sunlit grasslands, join local guides to visit real “people of the grassland,” or watch traditional performances such as horse racing, wrestling, horse lassoing, and horse taming. You can also participate in the Oboo worship ceremony. The grand atmosphere and authentic experience will leave you with lifelong memories of the grassland and its people.

Typical grassland, also known as high plains grassland, makes up about 30% of the total area of Hulunbuir Grassland. The terrain is flat and stretches endlessly. The main types of grass include alkaligrass, needlegrass, and feathergrass, all of which are high-quality and ideal for grazing cattle and sheep. Meadow grassland is distributed across low, gentle hills, accounting for about 40% of the total grassland area, with grass growing 30 to 50 centimeters tall — suitable for grazing larger livestock and storing winter forage. The vegetation is dense and home to a variety of medicinal plants. In spring and summer, the area bursts into a riot of colorful blossoms, creating a stunning sight.

Baiyinhusu Grassland is located in the southern part of the Ewenki Banner. The Ewenki Autonomous Banner is one of China’s three ethnic minority autonomous banners and the region where the Ewenki people practice regional autonomy. It lies in the eastern part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, west of the Greater Khingan Mountains and southeast of the Hulunbuir Grassland. The area has a mid-temperate continental climate, with an average annual temperature ranging from -2.4°C to 2.2°C.
