Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (formerly Baotou Iron and Steel Institute) is a higher education institution primarily focused on engineering, with a balanced development across multiple disciplines including engineering, management, liberal arts, and science.

The university operates under a system jointly established by the central government and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with management primarily by the region. The current president is Professor Hao Zhaoxing.

The total construction area of the teaching zone is 129,712 square meters.
