Tai’an Inn

The Tai’an Inn is a cultural relic protection unit of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

In September 1931, the Eastern Department of the Communist International decided to send Comrade Wang Ruofei back to China from the Soviet Union to establish contact with Comrade – and others, forming the 0 Northwest Special Committee. Wang Ruofei (using the alias Huang Jingzhai) served as secretary, Ji He (alias Zhang Qisheng) as head of the military department, and Pan Enpu (alias Zhao Bicheng) as head of the organizational department, preparing to launch national democratic armed struggles in western Suiyuan and various northwestern provinces. However, the work did not go smoothly—Pan Enpu was arrested and defected while en route to Ningxia via Alashan’s Dingyuan Camp. Unfortunately, on the evening of November 21, Comrade Wang Ruofei was arrested and imprisoned at the Tai’an Inn in Baotou. In the spring of 1932, the Eastern Department of the Communist International sent Comrade Zeng Yongquan back to China. Comrades Zeng Yongquan and Ji He continued underground covert operations in Baotou. By the end of 1932, Zeng Yongquan left Baotou for the Soviet Union, while Ji He remained in Baotou to carry on the struggle.
