Baotou Archives

The Baotou Archives serves as a base for patriotic education.

The Baotou Archives is located at No. 28 Gangtie Street, Kunlund District, Baotou City (within the municipal government compound). Established in 1986, it covers a total area of approximately 3,500 square meters and houses a collection of 280,000 volumes (items), making it the largest league-level archives in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. As a quasi-county-level cultural institution under the Baotou Municipal Archives Bureau, it is the permanent base for preserving archival materials in our city and a central hub for various sectors of society to access such resources. The archives is responsible for receiving, collecting, organizing, preserving, and providing access to archival materials from the municipal Party and government agencies, mass organizations, as well as revolutionary historical archives and archives from the former regime. In 1997, it was designated as a “Patriotic Education Base” by the Baotou Municipal Committee and Municipal Government. Leveraging its rich collection and following the main timeline of Baotou’s historical development, the Baotou Archives utilizes comprehensive archival materials and primarily organizes regular exhibitions to widely promote awareness among all sectors of society, thus fully leveraging the cultural and educational value of its archival resources.
