Shitiao Mountain

Located 20 kilometers west of Baochang County, the seat of Taibus Banner government, Shitiao Mountain is a geological landscape formed after a volcanic eruption. Standing at the foot of the mountain and looking up, you’ll see vertical rock slabs standing in layers, almost perfectly straight—steep and towering. On the rugged cliff face, there is a bird’s nest hidden among several lush green pine trees. Birds often freely soar in the warm sunshine among the mountains—an atmosphere of peace, tranquility, and wonder. When you climb to the top and stand at the mountain’s edge, you can clearly see the only crevice among the massive rocks below. It’s no more than a finger’s width wide and can only be spotted from a certain angle. This is a rare sight in geological landscapes. On the mountain slopes, large rocks are scattered flat, while the mountaintop features rocks of all shapes and sizes, making one marvel at the wonders crafted by nature.
