The Hougankang Hot Spring Park Scenic Area is located at the southern foot of Xiangshan Mountain in Hougankang Village, on the northeast side of Lucheng, and to the northeast of the Donghe River of the Luohe. Nestled against mountains and beside water, the area is surrounded by picturesque landscapes of hills, waters, and fields. The scenic spot enjoys a prime location, just 1,000 meters from the Xiahu Exit of the Shenshan Expressway.

Hougankang Hot Spring is one of the large-scale hot springs in our province. Research and analysis conducted by seven scientific research institutions—including the Guangzhou Institute of Geography under the Guangdong Academy of Sciences and the China National Analytical Center, Guangzhou—on the geophysical properties and water quality of the spring concluded that: Hougankang Hot Spring is a high-temperature thermal, unique plain-type hot spring. The spring zone stretches 480 meters from east to west with an average width of about 20 meters. The surface temperature of the spring water is 62 degrees Celsius, while the water gushing from a depth of 52 meters reaches 70 degrees Celsius, and at 100 meters deep, the temperature can reach 90 to 100 degrees Celsius. This spring water is a radioactive hot spring with high medicinal and health care value. It helps eliminate fatigue, improves blood circulation, and has beneficial therapeutic effects on conditions such as hypertension, gastric ulcers, neurosis, obliterative vasculitis, and gynecological diseases—especially showing special efficacy for skin diseases. The spring water and mud can moisturize and whiten the skin, offering cosmetic benefits. The hot spring has abundant water reserves, with a natural flow rate of 43.2 cubic meters per day at the surface outcrop, flowing year-round. Meanwhile, the geothermal resources of this hot spring can also be extensively utilized in industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and animal husbandry.

Hougankang is a high-quality mineral spring with great development potential and broad prospects. The scenic area has approximately 2,000 acres of developable construction land. According to planning, it will be developed into a large-scale hot spring resort complex, including hot spring hotels, villas, parks, bathing facilities, rehabilitation and physiotherapy centers, entertainment centers, and sightseeing farms—making it an ideal destination for tourists visiting Lucheng for leisure and relaxation.

Hougankang Village: Hougankang Village is located along the Luwu Highway in Hedong Town, Lufeng City, covering an area of over 10 square kilometers. It administers five villager groups with a total population of more than 9,001. It lies within the jurisdiction of Hedong Town, with the village committee situated just 3 kilometers from the city center, enjoying favorable geographical advantages. The Hougankang Village Committee has leveraged local characteristics to develop the village's collective economy, attracting Guohui Jinshi Muyeyu Co., Ltd. to develop the hot spring project, thereby increasing the village’s collective economic income.
