Guikeng Scenic Area

The Guikeng Tourist Area primarily features mountainous landscapes and reservoir scenery, distributed around Longtan Reservoir and its vicinity. With its lush mountains and clear waters, the area boasts picturesque views.

Longtan Reservoir is one of the major reservoirs in Guangdong Province, with a water storage capacity of 108 million cubic meters and a catchment area of 11 square kilometers. The reservoir is dotted with small islands, offering scenery comparable to that of Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang and Wanlv Lake in Heyuan. According to planning and design, the central waters of Longtan Reservoir will be developed into a water recreation center, equipped with speedboats, pedal boats, sightseeing cruise ships, and other water leisure facilities, forming a water sports and reservoir sightseeing zone.

Within the tourist area lies Renzi Peak, whose main peak stands at an elevation of 740 meters. The mountain is named for its resemblance to a giant standing atop the summit. The mountain is home to springs with exceptionally high-quality water that flow continuously from above, abundant in volume and sweet to the taste. After multiple on-site investigations and water element analyses by scientific research institutions, the springs have been identified as an ideal source for mineral water development. The spring water converges into "Drumming Pool" before flowing down the mountain. Visitors at the foot of the mountain can hear what sounds remarkably like rhythmic drumbeats. Renzi Peak also features the legendary "Immortal Stone."

The Guikeng Tourist Area is home to a rubber plantation base and high-quality fruit orchards. Vast expanses of rubber trees and fruit orchards form a sea of green. The seasons of blooming fruit blossoms and ripening fruits throughout the year make it an ideal destination for eco-tourism and leisure travel.
