Kilimanjaro National Park is located in northeastern Tanzania and was established in 1968. It spans an area of 756 square kilometers, ranging from elevations of 1,800 meters up to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The park encompasses all mountainous areas above the tree line and six forest corridors that traverse the montane forest belt, featuring countless species of plants.

Within the park, Mount Kilimanjaro stands as a solitary and towering peak, rising majestically from the vast East African plains and piercing the clouds. Its impressive blue-gray massif, capped with snow, proudly dominates the semi-arid landscape of northern Tanzania like a mighty sentinel guarding the continent’s rich beauty. The park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including tropical animals such as African elephants, zebras, ostriches, giraffes, and rhinoceroses, as well as rare species like colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, Arabian oryx, and greater kudu — all living freely. It is recognized as one of the world’s renowned wildlife sanctuaries.
