Lake Manyara National Park, also translated as Manyara Lake National Park, is a national park in Tanzania's Arusha Region, located on the western shore of Lake Manyara. The park’s dry land area covers 330 square kilometers, while its forests and alkaline lakes span 200 square kilometers. It has distinct dry and wet seasons.

Stretching 50 kilometers at the foot of the rust- and gold-colored cliffs of the 600-meter-deep East African Rift Valley, Lake Manyara is a gem that Hemingway once praised as “the loveliest place in Africa.” Lake Manyara offers a high concentration of wildlife, serving as a virtual microcosm of Tanzania’s safari experience. The park features winding roads, dense forests, and rolling hills, and is home to wildlife such as baboons, blue monkeys, antelopes, zebras, elephants, and lions. It is one of the best places in Tanzania to observe birdlife, with over 400 recorded bird species — even first-time visitors to Africa can spot around 100 of them in a single day. Among the most striking birds are the thousands of permanently resident pink flamingos, along with other large waterbirds such as pelicans, cormorants, and storks.
