Pretoria National Botanical Garden

The Pretoria National Botanical Garden is located in the eastern part of Pretoria, Gauteng Province, South Africa, 8 kilometers from the city center. Established in 1946, it covers an area of 76 hectares and is one of South Africa’s nine national botanical gardens.

The Pretoria National Botanical Garden specializes in cultivating subtropical and temperate plants, offering visitors the chance to fully appreciate the rich and diverse flora of the subcontinent. Fifty hectares of the garden are intensively planted with indigenous South African plants, enabling visitors to enjoy not only subtropical and temperate species but also unique local flora. The garden includes sections such as the Cycad Garden, Succulent Garden, and Aloe Garden, featuring a wide array of uniquely shaped plants.

Within the Pretoria National Botanical Garden, over 600 species of flowering plants, numerous bird species, and a variety of reptiles and mammals coexist harmoniously. Half of the trees are native to South Africa, and naturally growing plants thrive in grasslands and densely shrubbed savannahs, all in perfect harmony.
