Denmark’s Legoland (Legoland Billund), formerly known as Legoland Park, officially opened to the public in 1968. It is located in Billund, Denmark, home to the renowned LEGO toy company. The park is near LEGO’s original factory site and Denmark’s second-busiest airport, Billund Airport. In 2007, approximately 16 million visitors came to the park, and by that year, a total of 40 million people had visited, making it the most popular attraction in Denmark after Copenhagen.

The birthplace of LEGO bricks is Denmark. These plastic building blocks, now beloved by children around the world, have one side with studs and the other with holes to fit them. There are over 1,300 different shapes, each available in 12 colors, primarily red, yellow, blue, white, and black. With a child's creativity and hands-on play, they can be assembled into countless imaginative forms—earning them the nickname "magic plastic bricks."

Legoland features miniature world architecture and rides built from 44.5 million LEGO bricks, presenting cities from around the globe in a theme park divided into six zones. At times, the park welcomes up to 20,000 visitors in a single day. It is a blend of a miniature world exhibition and a themed amusement park, where everything—from tiny figures, animals, cars, and ships to massive buildings, palaces, and churches—is constructed using the familiar LEGO bricks we all know. At Legoland, designers and architects let their imaginations run wild; if you can think of it, they can build it.
