Established in 1931, Chester Zoo is located in the city of Chester, Cheshire in the northwest of England. It is one of the largest and most popular zoos in the UK. Covering an area of 110 acres, Chester Zoo is home to over 8,000 animals of more than 400 species, attracting 1.3 million visitors each year. In 2007, Forbes ranked Chester Zoo as one of the world’s top 15 zoos.

Chester Zoo is the largest municipal zoo in the UK, offering an exceptionally comfortable environment for animals housed in enclosures designed to simulate their natural habitats. From massive elephants and rhinos to delicate butterflies, this 110-acre green space is teeming with wildlife from all corners, including black rhinos, giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, reptiles, and birds. The zoo features bird-filled gardens, children's play areas, themed gardens, and other essential park facilities—there's something to suit every interest. Children and young visitors will love the zoo’s Safari Skyway monorail ride, which offers a giraffe’s-eye view overlooking the entire zoo, or opt for a relaxing ride on the water bus to explore the grounds.
