Jixiang Fuhui Temple

Jixiang Fuhui Temple is an AA-level scenic area. Located in Menkeqing Gacha, Zhaxi Town, Yijinhuoluo Banner, it was built in 1736 as the family temple of the 9th Urgyen Geghen in his hometown of Ordos. When the 3rd Panchen Lama passed through Ordos on his way to Beijing to meet Emperor Qianlong, he bestowed upon it the name “Jixiang Fuhui Temple.” It was demolished during the Cultural Revolution in 1966. From 1990 to 1998, the temple was rebuilt with 2 million yuan raised by the 11th Urgyen Geghen (currently a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China, Vice Chairman of the Inner Mongolia CPPCC, and President of the Inner Mongolia Buddhist Association, Urgyen Galaseng Tubdan Chilnima). The grand reconstruction and consecration ceremony was held on May 18, 1998. The temple was rebuilt on the original site, consisting of one compound for the Geghen, a main hall with five rooms, and three smaller halls on each side, covering a total area of 4,000 square meters with a construction area of over 2,000 square meters. There are currently 40 monks. The architecture is grand in scale, and visitors can learn about and appreciate the profound Buddhist culture of Ordos as well as its distinctive architectural style.
