St Pancras Railway Station

St Pancras Railway Station, also known as St Pancras International, is a major railway station located in the St Pancras area of London, situated between the British Library and King's Cross Station. It was originally opened in 1868 by the Midland Railway. St Pancras is often referred to as the "cathedral of the railways" because it boasts two iconic Victorian-era buildings.

The station’s main train shed was constructed in 1868 by engineer William Henry Barlow and was the largest single-span structure of its time. St Pancras Station has a long, north-south rectangular layout. As the UK terminal for the Eurostar, the station features a newly built secure, enclosed area for Eurostar trains. Trains depart from St Pancras via High Speed 1 in southern England, travel through the Channel Tunnel, and arrive on the European continent. At the southern end of the upper level of the station stands a 9-metre-high, 20-tonne bronze statue called "The Meeting Place," designed by British artist Paul Day to rekindle the romance of travel.
