Royal Albert Hall is an artistic landmark located in Knightsbridge, Westminster, London, UK. The concert hall has been in use since 1871 and is the oldest music venue in the city. Its exterior features distinctive red-brick architecture modeled after a Roman amphitheatre, making it unique among many buildings.

Originally called the Central Hall of Arts and Sciences, it was renamed the Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences by Queen Victoria in honor of her late husband, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

The first concert at Royal Albert Hall took place on May 1, 1871, featuring Arthur Sullivan's cantata "On Shore and Sea." The venue is best known for hosting the annual BBC Proms (Henry Wood Promenade Concerts), which have taken place every summer since 1941. The Proms is an eight-week classical music festival held each summer, established in 1895. Nowadays, each season includes over 70 concerts at the Hall, as well as events on the final night held elsewhere in the UK.

Since its inauguration by Queen Victoria in 1871, the world’s top artists have performed at this iconic venue. It hosts over 350 events annually, including classical concerts, rock and pop performances, ballet and opera, tennis matches, award ceremonies, school and community activities, charity shows, and lavish banquets.
