London Science Museum
The London Science Museum (London Science Museum) is part of the National Museum of Science and Industry in the UK. Founded in 1857, it preserves and exhibits objects of great significance in the history of natural science and technological development, as well as those important to modern scientific research and exploration. The museum is located in South Kensington, London, UK, with a total floor area of approximately 45,000 square meters and an exhibition area of about 30,000 square meters, making it one of the largest major science and technology museums in Europe.
The London Science Museum is a comprehensive museum integrating natural science, technology, agriculture, industry, and medicine. Its broad scope is unparalleled worldwide. The museum has 70 exhibition rooms, housing around 200,000 items displayed across 7 floors, covering an area of 8 acres. These exhibits illustrate various human discoveries and inventions, ranging from plastic bags and telephones to offshore drilling equipment and airplanes. The layout of the entire museum is clear and intuitive: the lower-floor exhibition rooms, which are often more crowded, are geared toward younger visitors, while the upper-floor rooms feature more intricate and advanced displays. The exhibits include real objects, models, and in some cases, cross-sections that allow visitors to see the internal structure of the items. Like other government-funded museums in the UK, the London Science Museum is free to enter, with the exception of certain temporary special exhibitions.
