The Royal Air Force Museum, commonly abbreviated as the RAF Museum (an acronym of its full name), is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and a registered charity. The Royal Air Force Museum London is one of the museum's sites, located in the suburbs of London on the site of the former Hendon Aerodrome, dedicated to showcasing aviation history and the Royal Air Force. Another site of the Royal Air Force Museum is located in Cosford, Shropshire, about 5 miles northwest of Wolverhampton.

Established on November 15, 1972, the Royal Air Force Museum London is the UK’s only national museum dedicated to aviation. The museum houses a collection of over 100 aircraft from around the world, spanning various eras and capabilities, primarily divided into five major thematic exhibition areas: Milestones of Flight, Bomber Hall, Historic Hangars, the Battle of Britain Hall, and the Sir Roy Dobson Hangar (formerly known as the Grahame-White Factory). The museum boasts world-class aircraft collections along with unique exhibits, films, interactive activities, artworks, engines, missiles, photographs, uniforms, medals, research and educational facilities, offering a comprehensive display of aviation-related artifacts and information.

Among the highlights at the Royal Air Force Museum London are some of the world’s earliest jet fighters, including the famous German Me-262 and He-162, as well as Britain’s Meteor and Vampire jets — a must-see for military enthusiasts.
