Faenza

Faenza is a city in the Ravenna Province of the Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy, located at the northeastern foothills of the Apennine Mountains, about 50 kilometers southeast of Bologna. It is renowned for producing Italian decorated pottery.

Faenza is a city worth visiting, with its major attractions concentrated around Piazza del Popolo and Piazza della Libertà. Piazza del Popolo is home to the medieval-era Town Hall and Palazzo del Podestà. The magnificent Cathedral of Faenza is one of the highest expressions of Renaissance art in the Romagna region, housing numerous Renaissance artworks, primarily sculptures. Opposite the cathedral is an open-air art gallery.

It is also home to the International Museum of Ceramics, which features collections from around the world and across various eras, ranging from classic amphorae to works by Chagall and Picasso. Other interesting art collections are housed in the Civic Art Gallery, the Diocesan Museum, and the Manfredi Library. Additionally, neoclassical palaces, bell towers, the Kaster Park, and the Nature Park are also well worth a visit.
