The cave is located on the island of Capri in Italy. It is a natural sea cave and one of the world's seven most magical sea caves. This stunning cliffside blue cave was formed by thousands of years of seawater erosion, creating a magical and spectacular sight. In ancient Roman times, it was believed to be the home of witches and monsters, but that did not stop today’s visitors from exploring it, and it remains one of the most popular attractions on the island of Capri.

Visiting the Blue Grotto depends on the weather. You can only enter when there are no waves and during low tide, and you must use a small boat that accommodates 4 to 6 people because the cave entrance is very small. Inside the Blue Grotto, it is very quiet—you can’t hear the sound of the waves at all—and the water is brilliantly shiny blue. Sunlight shines through the cave entrance, illuminating the water, which sparkles magnificently.

The inside of the Blue Grotto is about 15–20 meters below sea level. Sunlight enters the cave through the entrance and is reflected off the water on the cave floor, making the seawater appear an intense sapphire blue. Even the rocks inside the cave take on a bluish hue, hence the name “Blue Grotto.” It is acclaimed as one of the seven wonders of the world.
