House of the Tragic Poet

　 Introduction

The House of the Tragic Poet is located on the north side of the Forum. It is a small building, and its entrance floor is inlaid with the words "Cave Canem" (Beware of the Dog), alongside a dog barking motif. The house is named after the bas-relief frescoes depicting a theater scene found inside.

Heading north from the House of the Tragic Poet leads to the House of the Faun (Casa del Fauno), which features decorations including a statue of the faun and other exquisite patterns.
