Open-Air Theater
Introduction Located at the easternmost part of the ancient city, this open-air theater was built around the 1st century BC and could accommodate nearly 20,000 people. It is the oldest among ancient Roman amphitheaters, predating Rome’s Colosseum by over 40 years. The theater features three levels of seating, and the uppermost tier still retains the pillars that once supported the roof.
