Jewish Ghetto
Introduction In 1516, Jews were forced by the government of the Republic to concentrate their residence here, mainly in what is today the Jewish Square (Campo Ghetto Nuove). The prominent high-rise buildings in the area were built to accommodate more people within the limited space. The Sinagoghe synagogues and shops related to Judaism are located here. At one corner of the square, there is also the Jewish synagogue and the Museo Ebraico (Jewish Museum), which houses ceremonial garments and precious silverware from the 17th to 19th centuries. Transport Take vaporetto lines 1 or 82 and get off at the S.Maria del Giglio (S.MTCUOLA) stop, or take bus lines 41, 42, 51, or 52 and get off at GUGLIE. Ticket / Opening Hours The entrance ticket to the Museo Ebraico is 3 euros.
