San Giorgio Maggiore Church

San Giorgio Maggiore Church is a church in Venice, Italy, located on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. It was designed by the renowned Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. Facing the San Marco area, the full view of San Giorgio Maggiore Church can be clearly seen from St. Mark's Square.

The façade of the church is white, giving it a very bright appearance. This façade also shows that Palladio designed a pediment above the corridor, which is exposed on the exterior of the façade in the form of an entablature. Next to the main entrance of the church are statues of Saint George and Saint Stephen.

The interior of the church is composed of plain colossal pilasters and white walls, conveying the classic style of the Renaissance, thus appearing very bright. The interior dome divides the church into two equal parts, with the longitudinal axis being longer than the transverse axis. The church also displays many famous paintings, the most important of which include The Madonna in Throne with Saints by Lissi, The Last Supper and Fall of Manna by Tintoretto, as well as works by Palma il Giovane, Jacopo Bassano, and Domenico Tintoretto, all housed in San Giorgio Maggiore Church.
