La Fenice Theatre in Venice is located in the heart of the water city of Venice, Italy, and is one of the most famous theatres in Europe. Since the phoenix is known as the "firebird" in Italian, the theatre is also called the Firebird Grand Theatre.

The original La Fenice Theatre was first built in 1774, during the final years of the Venetian Republic. Unfortunately, before it was even completed, the theatre was destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt in 1790 and completed in 1792. Once finished, it quickly became one of Europe’s premier theatres, hosting countless outstanding performances and earning widespread acclaim from audiences. In 1836, the theatre suffered a second devastating fire and was completely destroyed. However, reconstruction began swiftly on the original site, replicating its former design. Just a year later, it rose again from the ashes like the legendary phoenix. During World War I, the theatre was closed but reopened after the war, regaining its former vitality and attracting many world-renowned singers and playwrights. In 1930, it hosted the first International Festival of Contemporary Music.

In 1996, the theatre faced a third fire, this time caused by arson. Due to various reasons, reconstruction did not officially begin until early 2001. On December 14, 2003, La Fenice Theatre reopened to the public in a brand-new form. Elegant and peerless, having risen from the ashes three times and been rebuilt each time, it has become even more legendary.
