Montbéliard is a commune in the Doubs department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France, located about 13 km from the Swiss border and one of the two sub-prefectures of the department. The city is an important manufacturing center, home to a major production plant of Peugeot automobiles.

Montbéliard is a city rich in historical and cultural heritage, with numerous historic monuments, squares, buildings with colorful façades, beautiful parks, charming urban landscapes, and a wealth of cultural activities. The 10th-century medieval castle, once the residence of the Dukes of Württemberg, now houses the Museum of the Castle of the Dukes of Württemberg, showcasing the area’s long history and extensive collections of paintings and sculptures. The Church of Saint-Martin, built between 1601 and 1607, is the oldest church in France built in the form of a Reformation-style church. Also not to be missed are the Museum of Art and History, which features furniture, paintings, chandeliers, and items related to local history and daily life, as well as churches adorned with colorful altar paintings.
