Château de Vendôme is located in the Vendôme region of the Lower Normandy area in France and is one of the most beautiful castles in the Normandy region. This castle is a typical aristocratic residence in Normandy, renowned for its exquisite exterior and lavish interior decorations. It has been listed as a French historical and cultural heritage site and opened to the public in 1983.

The castle was designed and constructed between 1750 and 1752 by the renowned French architect Jacques-François Blondel, and is considered one of the finest examples of an 18th-century country villa. Although the castle survived the destruction during the French Revolution, it did not escape damage during World War II. After the war, the Count of Vendôme, a descendant of the original owners, carried out restoration work both inside and outside the castle. In 1945, the slate roof was reinstalled, and after the interior restoration was completed, the castle gardens were restored in 1970, returning them to their original appearance as a classical French-style garden.

Today, when you visit Château de Vendôme, you can admire the castle’s magnificent 18th-century interior decor, explore the rich Miniature Furniture Museum, see the 18th-century kitchen, and view the luxurious pet furniture and bedding. In addition, the castle gardens are also a wonderful sight, featuring a small lake, green lawns, blooming flowers, and elegant pavilions.
