Mount Gay Estate

Mount Gay Estate is located in Sauteurs, Saint Patrick Parish, in the northernmost part of Grenada. Established in 1908, the estate offers views of the towering nearby mountains, the blue sea, and picturesque rural scenery, making it one of Grenada’s most renowned tourist attractions.

The estate’s buildings are made from colorful river stones and coated with molasses lime, giving them a rustic yet elegant appearance. Nestled among lush green grass and vibrant red flowers, they are considered one of the most romantic sights in Grenada. The on-site restaurant features a pavilion-style design, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious meals while taking in the scenic beauty of the estate. The restaurant itself blends seamlessly into the estate's "atmosphere," creating a serene and graceful large manor complete with mountains, water, green trees, red flowers, and pavilions. Moreover, the dishes served at the restaurant are carefully selected local specialties and are exceptionally delicious. However, it’s important to note that dining at the restaurant requires advance reservations. Mount Gay Estate also houses a museum that showcases the development of the early sugar industry, memorabilia of the estate’s founder Betty Mascoll, and photographs of celebrities who have visited the estate. Former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Princess Margaret, the daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, visited the estate in 1983 and 1950, respectively.
