Morgan Arboretum

The Morgan Arboretum is located on the Macdonald Campus of McGill University and spans 245 hectares. Through the efforts of Robert Watson and his son John Watson, the Morgan Arboretum has become a garden that combines learning and recreation. Since 1945, the Morgan Arboretum has served as a site for teaching, research, and public education related to the conservation of forest trees.

The Morgan Arboretum is an ideal venue for community events and a great spot for skiing and walking. The arboretum is open year-round, with access starting at 9 a.m. It features many local Quebec tree species as well as 18 types of trees from around the world, including firs, oaks, birches, maples, lindens, and spruces. The Morgan Arboretum is also home to 30 species of mammals, 20 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 170 species of migratory and overwintering birds. In spring, everything comes back to life with vibrant greenery; in summer, lush trees and birdsong fill the air; in autumn, fallen leaves create a golden landscape; in winter, a pristine white blanket covers the land in serene stillness. Each season brings its own unique charm to the Morgan Arboretum.
