Introduction Robson Street is situated in the center of the commercial district and is a modern fashion area redeveloped during Vancouver’s 1980 urban renewal. It includes the two-by-two block “YELETOWN” neighborhood formed by Hamilton Street, Mainland Street, Smithe Street, and Helmcken Street. Nowadays, over several blocks west of Granville Street, the street is lined with malls such as Eaton’s and numerous brand-name boutiques. You’ll also find sidewalk cafés with tables set out on the street, and beneath Robson Square at its intersection with Howe Street, there is a food court that gets crowded at lunchtime with both diners and shoppers.

From near Thurlow Street to Stanley Park, this street is packed with restaurants where you can enjoy upscale French cuisine, Italian pizza, Japanese dishes, and a variety of international flavors, along with fashion stores popular among young people.

For over 100 years, Robson Street has been a renowned shopping and dining destination in Vancouver. The street is named in honor of John Robson, a former premier of British Columbia. Transportation
