BC Place Stadium

BC Place Stadium is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is a multi-purpose stadium and the first domed stadium in Canada. Completed in 1983, the stadium originally featured an air-supported, flexible fabric roof — the largest of its kind in the world at the time — and gained recognition not only for its size but also for its distinctive appearance, which earned it the nickname "Pineapple Bun" among Vancouver’s Chinese community.

Since 1983, BC Place Stadium has been the home of the BC Lions, a team in the Canadian Football League. It has also hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1986 World Exposition and the 2010 Winter Olympics, as well as the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Paralympics — making it the first Olympics in history to hold both opening and closing ceremonies indoors. In addition, the stadium regularly hosts large-scale exhibitions. Outside the stadium stands a memorial dedicated to athlete Terry Fox, while the BC Sports Hall of Fame is located inside the venue.
