VanDusen Botanical Garden

VanDusen Botanical Garden is located in Vancouver. Established in 1971, it officially opened to the public on August 30, 1975. Except for Christmas Day each year, the garden is open to visitors every day. Covering an area of 25 hectares, the garden houses plants from around the world, and within the park there is a restaurant, a shop, and a small library where visitors can learn about the garden’s history and purchase various small goods.

Several highlights of the park include intricately carved totem poles, large stone sculptures, and a Korean pavilion, each with its own unique charm. The VanDusen Botanical Garden has a vast collection of rhododendrons, cultivated varieties of European beech, mountain ash, ash trees, and magnolia. There is also a small heath garden featuring mainly cultivars of Ilex aquifolium. The garden is suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds, and many of the exhibited plants are labeled with information about their geographical origins, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the flora.
