The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is located in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, on a modern farm and serves as a prime example of the “Green Capital,” making Ottawa the only capital city in the world to host an agricultural museum right in its urban center. Its purpose is to demonstrate how advanced science and technology on the farm have improved the living standards of Canadians.

The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum houses a collection of farming tools, tractors, and, most notably, a variety of live animals such as cows, pigs, sheep, horses, chickens, rabbits, and more. Visitors can take part in fun activities like milking cows and shearing sheep, learning about the development of Canada’s dairy industry. It not only broadens horizons but also increases knowledge about animals. Every year, the museum hosts a Sheep Shearing Festival from May 19th to 21st and a Traditional Market on June 13th—visitors are welcome to attend if interested.

In addition to guided tours and special scheduled events, there are also live demonstrations, offering a rich and diverse experience. The museum is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM year-round, except on Christmas Day.
