Bay City Museum

The Bay City Museum is a small museum located along the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. Established in 1917, the building it occupies was constructed in 1827 from stone. Classical yet elegant, it blends seamlessly with the Rideau Canal, complementing each other. When the canal was built, the building served as a warehouse.

The Bay City Museum primarily showcases the early history of Bay City and the construction of the Rideau Canal. Its collection includes military items, metalwork used in the building of the Rideau Canal, everyday objects used by the people of Bay City, as well as handicrafts, clothing, furniture, musical instruments, items related to schools and hospitals, government artifacts, and a large number of photographs and images.
