Phone: (06) 4721528  Introduction The small town of Salt was once the capital of Jordan during the Ottoman Turkish era, surpassing Amman in prominence at the time. Now returned to quietude, the well-preserved Ottoman-era architecture—built from local yellow stone—gives Salt a golden hue, in contrast to Amman’s white. As such, sunset is when the town is at its most beautiful.
