Yangqu Xingguo Temple

Yangqu Xingguo Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Taiyuan City.

Xingguo Temple is located in Dongqingshan Village, Nitun Town, Yangqu County. The exact year of its establishment is unknown, but the main structure of the existing main hall is a Ming Dynasty building. It faces south and has a construction area of approximately 132 square meters. In 1996, the People’s Government of Yangqu County designated it as a key cultural relic protection unit.

Main Hall: It features three bays in width, four rafters in depth, a single-eave hanging hip roof, a roof covered with gray clay barrel tiles, and a border trimmed with blue-glazed tiles.

The beam framework is of a five-rafter, corridor-less style. The middle bay beam frame consists of a five-rafter beam spanning the front and rear eaves, with the ridge beam framework featuring a central column beneath the ridge purlin, dividing the five-rafter beam into two double-step beams. In front of the temple stands a stele from the 41st year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1702), inscribed with “The Preface to the Reconstruction Stele of Shengkou White Horse Longdong Qingshan Village.”
