The Wang Xingping Massacre Site is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Wang Xingping Massacre Site is located in Wang Xingping Natural Village, Shangyangzhai Village, Houcun Township, Yangqu County, covering an area of approximately 3,600 square meters. On June 5, 1938 (the eighth day of the fifth lunar month), over a thousand Japanese troops from the Matsumoto and Mika units stationed in Taiyuan, along with puppet soldiers, surrounded the base of the Independent Battalion of the 714th Regiment, 358th Brigade, 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army in Wang Xingping Village. After intense shelling, the Japanese launched a fierce attack on the village. While evacuating civilians, the soldiers of the Independent Battalion fought back bravely. After a fierce battle, most of the battalion managed to break through the encirclement, but suffered heavy casualties, with over eighty soldiers killed in action. Following the breakout, the Japanese carried out brutal arson, killings, and looting in Wang Xingping, which had only about seventy households.
