Former Site of the Party Branch of Potou Village

The former site of the Party Branch of Potou Village is located in Shipotou Village, Yangxing Township, Yangqu County, with a construction area of 300 square meters.

In mid-November 1937, Liu Daosheng, political commissar of the 4th Sub-district of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, led a field work team to Niucun Town, Yu County. Together with Wang Dacheng, a member of the Special Committee of the CPC along the Zhengtai Railway, and Hu Renkui, the magistrate of Yu County, they jointly established an anti-Japanese base along the Zhengtai Railway and formed the Special Committee of the Five Counties: Yu (County), Ping (ding), Yang (qu), Shou (yang), and Yu (ci). In late November, it was renamed the Central County Committee of the Four Counties: Yu (County), Ping (ding), Yang (qu), and Shou (yang). Soon after, the Yangqu Sub-group was established, with Wang Dacheng leading the group into the Yangxing area of Yangqu to carry out anti-Japanese propaganda. In December, three comrades from Shipotou Village—Yang Heshang, Shi Youlong, and Shi Shenqi—were recruited as members of the Communist Party of China, and the Party Branch of Shipotou Village was established, with Yang Heshang serving as the branch secretary. This was the first grassroots Party branch of the CPC in Yangqu County.

Yangxing Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Yangqu County. Established as the Yangxing People's Commune in 1959 and reorganized as a township in 1984. Located in the northern part of the county, it covers an area of 248.7 square kilometers with a population of 4,000. The Chengjia Highway passes through the area.
