The former site of the logistics command of the Taiyuan Campaign is located in Donghuangshui Village, Donghuangshui Town, Yangqu County, with a construction area of 90 square meters.

In October 1948, the Battle of Taiyuan Liberation began. To ensure adequate supplies for the troops, the First Prefectural Committee of the CCP Jinzhong Regional Committee decided to organize a Logistics Command to Support the Taiyuan Campaign, led by Commissioner Xue Tonglian and Deputy Commissioner Peng Bozhou, responsible for mobilizing support work across its jurisdiction of 10 counties. The command was stationed in Donghuangshui Village, Donghuangshui Town, Yangqu County. To maintain close contact with frontline forces and ensure timely supply, a Frontline Support Command was also established, with Guo Gubang as commander, Liu Dayu as chief of staff, and Guo Shourui as director of the political department and head of the Burial Committee. Following instructions from the prefectural committee, the CCP Yangqu County Committee also formed a County Logistics Command, with County Party Secretary Hua Guofeng serving as political commissar and County Magistrate Zhang Tianhuai as director. This command was also stationed in Donghuangshui Village. During the Battle of Niu Tuozhai, Hua Guofeng presided over a mobilization meeting for county and district cadres to support the front, deciding that most leaders of the county and district party committees would operate with brigade headquarters and that every village would establish its own support command. The frontline command assigned the task of transporting doors and beams to the frontline to the Yangqu County Logistics Command. The county logistics command proposed the slogan "The more we sweat, the less they bleed," mobilizing the entire county’s population to deliver 95,485 doors and 71,271 beams of various sizes to the Niu Tuozhai position. To rescue the wounded, the county logistics command also tasked the county and district women’s federations with mobilizing women to feed water, meals, and medicine to the injured, wash blood-stained clothes, and mend garments. During the Battle of Taiyuan Liberation, the people of Yangqu paid a tremendous price and made indelible contributions.

Donghuangshui Village: Donghuangshui Village is located ten kilometers due east of Yangqu County, at the foot of Hongshan and Weishan mountains. It is the seat of the Donghuangshui Town government and classified as a plain village in our county. The village committee consists of four natural villages: Shigou East, Jiaxi, Bozigou, and Beishe, comprising 16 villager groups divided into 8 grid areas. The village has a total of 84 Party members, 1,125 households, and a population of 2,634, including 1,042 laborers.
