Master Mingtai Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Shanxi Province.

Location: Panwei Natural Village, Northeast of Panwei Village, Panwei Town, Donghuangshui County, Yangqu County, Taiyuan City

According to inscriptions on the pagoda, it was built in the 31st year of the Zhiyuan era of the Yuan Dynasty (1294) as an auxiliary structure of Baoyan Temple.

Master Mingtai Pagoda is an octagonal, five-story, pavilion-style brick pagoda. The pagoda is approximately 8 meters tall, with an octagonal floor plan. The body of the pagoda is a solid brick structure, with each level featuring inwardly receding corbelled brackets. Below the eaves are brick imitation wooden dougong brackets. The first level has a niche on the southern side housing a statue of the Buddha, while the upper levels feature arched niches. The third level has a central arched doorway.

Master Mingtai Pagoda is a Yuan Dynasty pavilion-style solid brick pagoda with a long history and uniquely elegant design. Its brickwork imitates wooden dougong brackets with remarkable finesse.
