Bima Sinkhole

Bima Sinkhole is a newly developed attraction in Oman and an incredibly enticing one, located between Muscat and Sur. Though called a sinkhole, it's a naturally formed cave that gives the impression of a massive pit created by a huge boulder crashing down.

To enter Bima Sinkhole, you need to descend dozens of man-made steps. The water inside the sinkhole is quite a marvel — it’s said to be a bluish-green mix of freshwater from the cave and the seawater from the surrounding ocean, creating an extraordinarily rare color. The vibrant green hue is strikingly beautiful, resembling a precious emerald gem. The water is crystal clear, allowing you to see fish swimming around.

The interior of Bima Sinkhole spans about 500 meters in length, 40 meters in width, and 20 meters in depth, connecting all of Oman’s seas. There are protruding rocks in the water where visitors can rest or take photos. Standing in the shallow area of the sinkhole, your toes remain clearly visible, and adorable fish may even swim up to your feet for a closer look.
