Payar Island Marine Park is located about 19 nautical miles from Langkawi Island and is the earliest marine park on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula. Its most magical feature is the abundance of mature artificial coral reefs made from old boats, concrete blocks, and discarded tires, which attract a variety of marine life to thrive around them. Visitors can also clearly watch fish playing in the water. The park consists of four small islands: Pulau Payar (Payar Island), Palau Segantang (Segantang Island), Palau Kaca (Glass Island), and Pulau Lembu (Lembu Island). Each island retains its pristine natural scenery, with crystal-clear waters that serve as a beautiful habitat for various marine species, including many endangered ones. Payar Island is the largest and most popular island in the park. To the southwest of the island lies a diving site known as Coral Garden, where visitors can admire vibrant soft corals and embark on an exciting "underwater jungle adventure" by diving to the seabed.
