Hot Spring Village

Hot Spring Village is located in the northwest of Langkawi, about 14 kilometers from Langkawi. It is a modern small village that attracts visitors with an 18-meter-high rock mural and a three-tiered hot spring fountain. There is also a legend about Hot Spring Village: two families in the village had a quarrel over their children's marriage, throwing pots, basins, and plates at each other. One pot full of hot water fell to the ground, and suddenly a hot spring appeared where it landed.

A small village was built at the site where the hot spring emerged, and it has now become a well-known tourist destination. Today, there is a three-tiered hot spring pool standing in the village, with three springs of different temperatures underneath—said to be the very same hot spring of the past. Next to the hot spring stands an 18-meter-tall handmade stone wall depicting the origin of the hot spring. The springs here are rich in sulfur and salt, and are said to be highly effective in treating skin diseases. Therefore, massage services aimed at relieving fatigue are also available by the wells. The village features shops and small gardens where visitors can purchase local handicrafts.

Hot Spring Village offers daily demonstrations of local handicrafts and dance performances. In addition, there are many other activities such as traditional competitions, outdoor shows, and performances featuring elephants and snakes.
