Yingze Street

Yingze Street

Yingze Street in Taiyuan was expanded and built after the liberation on the foundation of an earthen road less than two meters wide that originally lay outside Yingze Gate (now Danan Gate), south of the moat. Because it is located in front of Yingze Gate, it was officially named Yingze Street in September 1958 by the Taiyuan Municipal People's Committee. In 1976, Yingze Street was extended eastward to Taiyuan Railway Station and was called Yingze East Street. In 1982, the municipal government merged Yingze East Street and Yingze Street and unified their name as Yingze Street.
