Chuncheon Jade Mine

The Chuncheon Jade Mine is located in Wolgok-ri, Dong-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea. It is the only jade mine in Korea and the world's only white jade mine. It is said that the miraculous effects of Chuncheon jade have been widely known since ancient times, with the jade here showing significant therapeutic effects for conditions such as joint pain, high blood pressure, allergic rhinitis, diabetes, and insomnia, making it widely renowned.

Inside the 150-meter-long Chuncheon Jade Cave, jade can be found on both sides, and further ahead is a corridor provided for visitors to rest. At the end of the tunnel (a passage inside the mine), there is jade well water available for drinking. This jade well water is groundwater collected within the rock strata of the jade mine and is known to be highly effective in treating diarrhea, constipation, and indigestion, hence it is widely consumed. In addition, there is a jade exhibition hall where local specialties such as rings and necklaces are sold, as well as a restaurant offering dishes made with jade well water. Visitors to the jade mine can usually purchase jade raw stone products at relatively discounted prices, attracting many buyers.
