Nine-Twist Waterfall

Nine-Twist Waterfall is located at 432, Gangchon 1-ri, Namsan-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea. It is a waterfall formed by the winding course of Bonghwa Mountain and was officially designated as a tourist attraction of Chuncheon City on February 13, 1981. The waterfall stands 50 meters high, and its impressive height and grandeur complement the surrounding landscape. The mountains on both sides are rugged with oddly shaped rocks, further highlighting the magnificence of the waterfall. In winter, it becomes a paradise for ice wall climbing enthusiasts, attracting many during the cold season each year.

It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the Nine-Twist Waterfall ticket office to the waterfall along an 860-meter-long winding mountain path. The romantic scenery along the way often leaves behind the footprints of couples holding hands, and the stone pagodas and other facilities along the trail make great spots for photos. Notably, the Gangchon area has over 30 guesthouses, lodges, and motels that exude local charm and offer warm hospitality. Visitors can enjoy local cuisine and homemade village-brewed liquor after visiting the waterfall.
