Chuncheon City

Chuncheon City is located in the Chuncheon Basin, formed by the Bukhan River originating from Mount Kumgang and the Soyang River originating from Mount Seorak. It is the capital of Gangwon Province in South Korea. The city has been inhabited by tribes for over a thousand years, was named “Chunju” in 940, renamed Chuncheon in 1413, and became the capital of Gangwon Province in 1896.
