Located in Seoul’s Jongno District, this 33-story office building was constructed in 1999 and was planned and built by the architecture firm Verner Johnson.

Standing 132 meters tall, Jongno Tower may not be very high, but its unique exterior is eye-catching enough to draw the attention of passersby. Floors 22 to 33 of the tower are open-air spaces, with the 33rd floor supported by three reinforced concrete columns. From the outside, the 33rd floor appears to be floating in midair, giving the building a very distinctive look. This special and striking design has made Jongno Tower widely renowned, becoming yet another symbol of Seoul. The 33rd floor houses upscale restaurants, cafes, and bars, all surrounded by large floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the Seoul cityscape. Dining at the top-floor restaurant in the evening while admiring Seoul’s vibrant nightlife is an especially romantic experience.
