The Owl Museum is located in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and is a museum converted from an ordinary residential house. Samcheong-dong’s alleyways are widely recognized as the most beautiful streets in Seoul. Due to relatively low property prices, an increasing number of artists have moved here and opened workshops, design studios, specialty museums, galleries, and more, giving the area a strong artistic atmosphere.

The Owl Museum can be described as a grand gathering of owls from around the world. Within its elegant space of just over 100 square meters, owls are everywhere — there are tiny owls carved onto rings, as well as owl-themed ceramics, paintings, and screens embroidered with owls. In addition, there are stone owl statues from Zimbabwe in Africa, owls engraved on Egyptian cigarette boxes, white copper owls made in Tibet, and Spanish flutes that imitate owl calls. Over 2,000 "owls" from all over the world come together in this one place.

Visitors to the Owl Museum can take commemorative photos against the mottled walls, dine in the café that retains the full traditional Korean house style, or explore other galleries and various specialty museums run by individual artists — you’re sure to come away with something memorable.
